BARBADOS SHEEP
(Ovis aries)

Origin and History
Several studies have been made as to the origin of the breed, which has been widely accepted as African. There is compelling evidence that the Barbados Sheep has originated and evolved on the island of Barbados. It is also believed that they evolved from crosses of African hair sheep and European wooled breeds.
