Description
One of the most beautiful of birds, these birds are sure to catch your eye. They are high energy birds and require toys they can play with and chew one.

Diet
Always provide your bird with fresh water daily. Vitamin fortified pellets or seed labeled for Sun Conures is the recommended staple for these birds. They also eat a variety of sprouts, seeds, nuts, fruits, vegetables, commercial pellets, as well as the same nutritional foods humans eat. Fresh fruits and vegetables such as peas, carrots, tomatoes, apples, and bananas are always a welcome food supplement for your parrot. Items to avoid: avocado, grapefruit, green beans, all forms of cabbage, lemons, plums, raw and green potatoes, rhubarb, and dried fruits that have been treated with sulphur dioxide. Also provide a calcium block or gravel with oyster shell in it in a separate dish.

 

Cage Requirements

  minimum size recommended for one bird. This is only appropriate as long as the bird has a playpen it can spend most of the day on, but always provide supervision while they are out. A swing is also a good idea, 2-3 perches of varying sizes and shapes are a definite necessity, and lots of toys to chew on!

1. Provide an extra bowl of clean water in the cage and these birds will bathe themselves.
2. Feeding chocolate to any birds is dangerous and may seriously harm them.
