Description
These birds are quite hardy. They come in a variety of colors and are best recognized by their call or “laugh”. They are a very gentle and make a great beginning bird.

Diet
Always provide your bird with fresh water daily. Vitamin fortified pellets or seed labeled for Doves is the recommended staple for these birds. Also provide gravel with oyster shell in it in a separate dish.

Cage Requirements
Be sure to provide a cage with plenty of room for your bird(s) to test their wings. A cage that is approximately 24"x24"x24" (24 inches long, by 24 inches deep, and 24 inches high) is the minimum size recommended for two or three birds. A swing is also a good idea, 2-3 softwood perches of varying sizes and shapes are a definite necessity.
